Our Mission
The A. F Dobler hose & Ladder Co. consists of strictly volunteers who are always ready to commit there time and lives to help Girard and surrounding communities. Dobler Hose is located in Girard borough which is located in the northwestern portion of erie county pennsylvania and serves not only girard borough but a large portion of girard township and mutual aid departments. A. F. Dobler Hose and Ladder Co. specializes in multiple emergencies like fires, vehicle accidents, emergency medical services, technical rescue, etc. Our mission is to protect the lives and property within Girard and surrounding areas.

Latest Incidents and News
Smoke in the Building
Tuesday January 27th, 2009 - Around 6:30 PM this evening Girard(Dobler), Lake City, Fairview, Cranesville (for a RIT/Fast Team), Medic 1, and West Ridge (for tower 10) were called to Main Street West for smoke in the building. Unit 553 and Cranesville Engine 1 went responding moments after initial dispatch. Chief 540 (J. Gadley) and Engine Co 553 arrived on scene with a 1 story commercial brick and wood structure with a light haze of smoke seen from the windows. 553 crew was ordered to grab a water can and head to the basement. 553 engine Co. crew found some charring on the brick basement wall and no fire. Alpha crew (553 engine crew) stated go ahead and put all the other units in service smoke was caused by burnt wax in the basement. Alpha crew advised chief 540 that there is negative extension to any of the structure. Later Rescue Co 558 was dispatched for ventilation equipment. All hands on scene began natural ventilation of the building by opening all doors and windows. Upon Rescue 558's arrival Positive pressure fans and negative pressure fans were placed in doors. Approximately 7:20 PM all units went returning to station.

Evening MVA Sends Girard Crews to Daggett Road
Monday January 26th, 2009 - At approximately 8 PM Dobler Hose and Medic one were dispatched to a one vehicle MVA with possible entrapment. Medic 1 and ambulance 557 arrived on scene with "one vehicle off the roadway with heavy damage believe everyone is out of the vehicle medic 1 and 557 will investigate". 557 found 1 patient self extricated. 557 packaged patient and began transport to hospital. Rescue 558 also went responding but was later put in service by Chief 540. All units cleared the scene moments after ambulance 557. All units were in quarters at approximately 8:30 PM

Monday January 26th, 2009 - As you can tell its been a while since this site has been updated I apologize for any incontinence. I have added a couple new pages that should be working by tonight or tomorrow night. Also all of the Calls from year 2008 and 2007 are now on a link to the right under past calls. Another Automatic Fire Alarm Keeps Dobler Busy
Sunday January 25th, 2009 - At approximately 10:40 AM Dobler Hose was dispatched to Hathaway Street for a automatic fire alarm in a residence. Chief 540 went responding moments after dispatch. 540 arrived on scene reporting nothing showing from the exterior. 553 arrived on scene with orders to send crew to structure to assist with investigation.
Crew later found no fire and all units were clear at approximately 11:11 AM.

Automatic Fire Alarm
Saturday January 24th, 2009 - Today Girard and Lake City pagers were tripped for an automatic fire alarm at 13 E Main Street around 7PM. Approximately 2 min's after dispatch Girard L-2 (N. Hyde) arrived on scene with a 3 story wood frame nothing showing from the exterior. Lake City was requested to stand by per Girard L-2 (N. Hyde). Fire alarm occurred on the 2nd floor. Approximately 10 min's after dispatch all units were in service per Girard L-2 (N. Hyde). Fire alarm was caused by burnt food.

CO Alarm With Illness - Assist Fairview
Saturday January 24th, 2009 - 557 Ambulance was dispatched to assist Fairview 52 on a CO alarm with illness. 557 was requested by SO52 as a transportable unit. 557 responded moments after dispatch. SO52 had command on West County channel 2. 557 returned moments after arrival with no patient contact.
